On 06|10|2022, The Center for Peace, Conflict and Elections – CPCE held a seminar where Mogadishu residents were trained on an aspect of Participatory Democracy – Participatory Planning.
The event and training dubbed, Participatory Planning – “Strengthening Citizens’ Engagement for a Robust and Accountable Governance” saw almost 30 members of the community trained on: –
- Participatory Democracy;
- Participatory Planning;
- Principles of Participatory Planning;
- Awareness Building on Participatory Planning;
- The Groups and Sectors to be Involved in Participatory Planning;
- The Advantages of a Participatory Planning Approach;
- The Disadvantages of a Participatory Planning Approach;
- Examples in Different Contexts;
- How to Initiate Participatory Planning as well as
- The Steps in Implementation of Local Development Projects.
There were further Intriguing Discussions and Issuance of Certificates to respective participants.
CPCE wishes to congratulate Our Program Manager and Somalia Director, Mr. Abdukadir Adan Osman; The Master of Ceremony, Mr. Sharmarke Mahamud Jama’; Mr. Mohamed Ibrahim Hassan (Ustad Badiyow) and Ms. Aisha Hussien Ali (Ustada Aisha), for the wonderful job in imparting the requisite knowledge and technical expertise to the participants and community members.
